# Restrictions

Owner:
An Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident visa holder
or
A company, business name, partnership, sole trader or association registered in Australia
or
A holder of a valid trademark in Australia

Domain name:

If the registration is based on an Australian presence : 

  • There are no restrictions on the choice of domain name

If the registration is based on an Australian trademark, the .au domain name must be :

  • an exact match of the trademark name (for legal entities based outside of Australia), or
  • an exact match of the company's name (for legal entities based outside of Australia), or 
  • be the acronym or abbreviation of the company's name, or
  • be related to its activities, products or services

# Procedures

# Registration

There is no specific procedure related to the registration of a domain name.

.AU domain names are allocated on a "first come, first served" basis.

 

# Transfer

In order to transfer your domain name to Netim, you must disable transfer protections and obtain the authorisation code from your current Registrar.

The transfer may take several days.

The domain expiration date is not affected by the transfer process.

# Trade

In order to obtain the procedure for changing the holder of your domain name, do not hesitate to contact us.

According to your eligibility type, select your Registrant ID Number type and provide the corresponding ID number

# Additional fields

Some additional information may be requested in order to register a domain. In general, this information is collected by the registries in order to identify the owner, verify that he complies with the registration rules, etc. Here are the additional fields needed for this extension.

The domain name must be an exact match of the trademark name (For TM holders based outside of Australia)
When using our APIs, additional information must be provided in the corresponding fields of the object StructContact for the domain name holder.

Fields with ** must be provided in StructContact.additional array and are especialy linked for the domain name.
Example:  StructContact.additional["AU_TRADEMARK_NAME"]["domain.au"]=???
