2-factor authentication (2FA): Presentation
Two-factor authentication or 2FA protects your account and personal data.
Along with your password, a security code generated by a dedicated application on your smartphone will be required to log into your personal space. This process will therefore prevent any unauthorized person from logging into your account.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
Go to the page Connection and security
Click on the "Activate" button
Activation takes place in 3 steps:
- Setting up a two-factor application
- Checking the correct configuration
- Generating backup codes in case something goes wrong with your application
Setting up a two-factor application
Here are the main ones based on your environment:
- Google Authentificator
- Microsoft Authentificator
- Authy (works on mobile and desktop: https://authy.com/download/)
Once the application is installed, you must add a new entry by clicking on the + icon of your application (Google Authentificator). You will then just have to scan the QR code displayed on the screen or enter the key located just above it ( you can copy the identification key to the clipboard by clicking on it).
Checking the correct configuration
In order to check that the configuration has been done, you will be asked to enter the code generated by your application (6 numbers).
Generation of backup codes in case something goes wrong with your application
Two Factor Authentication (2FA) is now activated on your account.
The emergency codes displayed will allow you to log in even if you lose your smartphone for example. We recommend that you keep them in a safe place by printing them out or copying them.
Keep them carefully, they will no longer be displayed. You must print or copy these codes'
Adding a new device
Go to the page Login and security
Click on the + icon and scan the QRCode using the device you wish to grant access to your account.
Deactivating 2-factor authentication (2FA)
Go to the Login and security page Click on the "Disable" button
For security reasons, you will be asked to enter the code generated by your application (6 numbers).
How to use the emergency codes
If you lose your temporary or permanent access, simply enter one of your emergency codes (6 numbers) instead of the code provided by the application when you log in to your account. Warning: each code is for single use only
