Setup the white label

NETIM's goal is to provide a white label domain name service resulting in being the least visible to your customers.

Netim hides as much as possible in the whois and in discussions with domain name's owner and contacts. According to the extensions, it may be impossible for technical or legal reasons through our accreditation contracts.

However, we have implemented functionalities to maximize the white label, see Reseller settings for more information.

Public Informations

NETIM whois service

NETIM publishes whois for .COM .NET .TV .CC .JOBS .WS extensions in the format required by ICANN. All ICANN accredited registrars under 2013 contract are required to publish information in this format. e.g:

Declaring the Reseller into the Registries

Following Registries have set the Reseller contact in addition to standard admin/tech/billing contacts.

.UK domain names

If you resell this extensions, your Reseller's informations will be used instead of Netim ones, especially your trading name and website's URL. If the trading name is not set, the Company Name of your Reseller account will be used instead.

Welcome email:

When a domain name is registered, the Registry sends an email to the owner. The reseller will be indicated instead of NETIM

Renewal Reminders:

When a domain name is expired, the Registry sends a renewal reminder to the owner. The reseller will be indicated instead of NETIM

Whois service:

The whois is provided by the Registry and will mention the Reseller as "Registered through:" and NETIM with the mention "Registrar:"

www.keepyour.co.uk:

The website http://www.keepyour.co.uk, provided by the Registry, aims to provide information and advice regarding the renewal of .UK domain names. A section to obtain the registrar's informations will then display the Reseller's informations instead of NETIM ones

Online service:

Each owner of a .UK domain has access to the registry's interface to manage their personal data (This is why you can not make it via NETIM for .UK). For each domain name, the Reseller will be indicated in addition to NETIM as registrar.

.EU domain names

Whois service:

The whois is published by the Registry and will mention the Reseller among the different contacts. Correspondence between whois data and those of the Reseller is the next:

Specific pages

In some situations, according to the Registry's procedures, it is necessary to provide us with informations such as an authorization code. White label pages are then used to allow your customers to send us this information automatically. These pages are then personalized with your logo.

.BE domain names

Notifications to your Customers

If we need to send an email to the owner or contacts of your domain names, we will send it with your defined email address and signature.

WRDP Procedure

For some extensions, we have an obligation to contact the owner of each domain name at least once a year to allow him to verify the accuracy of the informations published in the whois.

This is a notification to your customers that will contain a white label and customizable message in English and French. A generic message is used by default but your should indicate the methods to your customers to correct their informations or to contact you to do so. You can send a test email to check the result.

All generic TLD and French extensions (.FR / .PM / .RE / .TF / .WF / .YT)

Custom DNS name servers

If you do not have your own DNS name servers or forwarding services, you can use our servers for each domain name managed by NETIM.

In order your customer not to see our names, you can use your own names which will be used as aliases. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Set your names with NETIM

Set your names in NETIM Direct

Note the IP addresses that correspond to your primary, secondary and tertiary servers

2. Publish your names into the DNS

In your domain name's DNS settings, create a type A record for each name server pointing to the corresponding IP address

Only IPv4 supported for now. IPv6 coming soon

3. Create your hostnames at various Registries

If available, you will have to explicitely create your hostname with the Registries.

If NETIM is your domain name's Registrar, use the hostCreate function from our API.

4. Set a default DNS template

When you register of transfer a domain name to Netim, we applied our default configuration. However NS records do not match your custom names. If the extension has a zonecheck, it will always fail.

In order to avoid this, you need to create a template and select it as default.

To create one, follow this tutorial for one of your domain names and save the template.

For extensions who do not have any zonecheck, you can apply your template with the function domainZoneInit

Special Conditions

If you resell .DK domain names
You need to register your name servers with DK Hostmaster

If you resell .IS domain names
You won't be able to use Custom Name servers because .IS check the reverse, IP must match the name. 
You must keep our default name servers an apply template n°1 with function domainZoneInit
